In a nutshell

In this exciting Virgin Atlantic Airways (VAA) role you'll be pivotal with your input and support in the day to day delivery of VAA’s worldwide Ancillary strategies and performance. With your expertise you'll recommend the framework for VAA’s Ancillary product budget, including channel and product breakdown and provide insight and reporting on the performance of the ancillary budget, supporting Line Manager. 
 
As an expert in your field you will be responsible for: monitoring and managing ancillary product initiatives; identifying and suggesting opportunities to support the performance goals and promote awareness across the business. You will support the budgetary planning cycle of 12 months, with monthly reporting responsibilities and ensure the delivery of ancillary strategies in collaboration with the wider Commercial and Customer key stakeholders.

Day to day

Lead and manage assigned ancillary product portfolio to meet key deliverables and revenue targets
 
Through scientific and forensic knowledge of the market and continual evaluation of the competitive landscape, make recommendations on strategies to optimise VAA’s ancillary revenue generation
 
Bring together key stakeholders across the business to shape ancillary strategies and product objectives
 
Plan, lead and implement strategies in collaboration with Digital, Marketing, Technology, Customer Centres, Airports and Inflight teams to optimise ancillary performance
 
Manage relationships with applicable product & system suppliers
 
Responsible for ensuring legal & regulatory compliance for ancillary product sales, working closely with Legal & Finance departments
 
Input to ancillary budget framework & reforecast on an annual basis, following best practice budgeting methodologies
 
Responsible for maintaining ancillary pricing and managing requests for change; assist/input into the in delivery of new technical functionality to meet commercial and customer needs and objectives
 
Support Line Manager and channel performance managers in analytics to manage sales channel & touchpoint performance
 
Periodically present strategic pricing approaches to take account of market performance through thorough analysis and make recommendations whilst maintaining alignment with VAA pricing strategy objectives
 
Work on and deliver assigned projects, including planning, research and implementation to deliver to successful conclusion
 
Identify opportunities for growth; recommending initiatives and or new products to optimise ancillary revenue contribution, including business case creation where applicable

About you

With advanced knowledge and practical application of Excel, you’ll be educated to degree level in statistics, economics, aviation, business or have experience in a related discipline. With demonstrable ability to interpret, analyse, manipulate and present significant volumes of data you’ll have exceptional analytical & numerical skills with proven application to solve complex business problems. The ability to strategically plan and implement, alongside experience in project delivery is strongly preferred.
 
With experience in data analysis & visualisation tools: Alteryx, SAS, SQL, Tableau or similar you’ll have the ability to take accountability and ownership of your area of responsibility. Using your excellent interpersonal and communication skills you'll have the ability to present in a structured manner and have proven experience in communicating complex messages to various audiences.
 
Demonstrable experience in delivering analysis to a high standard and working to deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic environment is essential, alongside the ability to use organisational skills to prioritise and multi task.
