In a nutshell

This is an exciting role that aims to drive the digital agenda forwards at Virgin Atlantic Airways (VAA's). As a senior member of the Digital Enterprise Team, you are essential to achieving our vision.
Providing a critical link from other business units into the product team, you'll make it your mission to ensure VAA's business and global customer needs are always represented, powered by standard methodology and data. This means that you are up to speed on the latest developments in UX, eCommerce and Agile methodologies and understand the nuances in customer behaviour across different locations. With a global group of partners, an excellent supplier and a team of product managers, you will direct the path to success for the digital activity on our shared platform. Not only will you guide the way by crafting the UX and business requirements for our digital activity, you’ll also seek out new opportunities and problem solve/mitigate where needed. Responsible for fostering Virgin Atlantic’s needs and ensuring early partner engagement in all multi-million dollar capital projects as well as overseeing the BAU (opex activities) that the team work on day to day.
Tenacious and tactful, you will be an expert in diplomacy and partnering, reporting into the Head of Enterprise you will be responsible for representing the VA brand at senior level meetings.

Day to day

Bridge the gap between a specific business unit and the digital team as the key member of a cross-functional digital team
Be the key stone between a specific Business Unit (Marketing, Revenue Management, Customer Team, Delta) and the Digital Team
Attend department team meetings and strategy sessions
Craft and own the Digital Road map for the Business Unit
Present key reports and data points to the Business unit and the digital team
Inspire, challenge and enable industry-leading digital experiences by making full use of our excellent tools, training and subject matter experts, as well as our data platform, Adobe technology platform, reporting & social intelligence tools.
Provide thought leadership and insight dedicatedly, showcase and demonstrate the power of the tools and technology Virgin Atlantic owns
Discover, embed and share new tools and technology to deliver standout consumer experiences in the digital.
Embed governance, processes, tools and technology into the Business Unit
Ensure success of project implementation within the cross-functional team: delivery aligned with brand expectations and financial goals.
Act as single point of contact for the specific department in relation to all things digital
Consult on all projects and business as usual

About you

Do you have a postgraduate degree (MSc, MA, or MBA) in a business, marketing or other relevant field with proven digital/technology experience in a B2C environment? Are you knowledgeable of the Adobe Marketing Platform or similar? Then you could be who we're looking for.
You’ll have supervisory experience and demonstrable experience of growth hacking and optimisation, alongside previous exposure to a global working environment and have experience with Agile, Scrum and Waterfall project delivery.
Having gained experience working in a consultancy/agency as a consultant, Planner or Strategic Account role you’ll have a technical aptitude. With the ability to understand complex architecture enough, you'll flag potential impacts of change. Using your excellent communication skills, verbal and written you’ll have the ability to present to groups at all levels and have enthusiasm and a can-do attitude allowing you to get things done.
