In a nutshell

Could you be the next Cargo Sales Manager to lead the commercial aspects of the cargo operation?

  In this pivotal role you will lead in building and nurturing key customer relationships. You'll also oversee the sales and account management processes ensuring revenue and volume targets are consistently met.

Day to day

Ensures the sales process is focussed on actively seeking and maintaining current and additional sources of revenue.

Create and implement sales and marketing plans and pricing strategy to ensure VAA Cargo competitiveness and to maximise revenue.

You have a passion in establishing and maintaining close working relationships externally with key representatives of all major accounts. You will also do this internally with other commercial functions, resulting in a collaborative sales strategy in the region.
 
Work with Head Office (Marketing) and Director Cargo Sales to have shared responsibility of local planning, organising and effective measurement of regional promotional activities.
 
Support the import sales effort in terms of service scope, quality and customer relationships.
 
Ensure sales policies are aligned with the strategic commercial direction in the Cargo division.
 
You will take care in handling workload so the department functions at maximum efficiency and provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to build and maintain a cohesive and well performing team.
 
Oversee the departmental overhead budget and provide input in to the territory’s annual and re-forecast revenue budgets.

About you

You will have proven air cargo experience, with a substantial proportion of this coming from the airline or logistics industries. Your excellent knowledge of local cargo market dynamics, practices and conventions will be critical in this role. Well-established, multinational and local customer relationships within the territory is an advantage. Good working knowledge of setting and monitoring budgets is preferred as well as your and ability to work with different cultures.

You'll be results focussed, possess strong negotiating skills and have a confident presentation style. You'll be comfortable making decisions while working within a busy and sometimes complex environment and able to take calculated risks.

In addition to the above if you also have a hands-on attitude and can plan and prioritise tasks accordingly then we would welcome an application from you.
