In a nutshell

In this role, you will take responsibility for providing accurate and timely management information and analysis. This will include – but not be limited to – an active role in month end Management Accounting and Reporting, annual Budgeting process and Reforecasting, as well as support Long Term Planning and financial modelling. You will actively challenge and influence the business and assist in finding solutions to financial issues.

You will also assist the wider Finance team to drive increased business support including process change and the delivery of financial and non-financial targets, working closely with key stakeholders and across directorates.

Day to day

Partnering with the Business

Understand your business area and become a SME who is then able to provide input and challenge decision making using Financial Information. 

Financial Reporting  

Drive and monitor progress towards achievement of targets. Work closely with the Finance Business Partner and Senior Finance analysts to provide concise analysis of financial performance. 

Preparing and explaining actual & expected performance on a monthly basis. 
Presenting financial results to internal stakeholders. 
Financial Planning & Forecasting  
Provide input & support to Senior FA’s & FBP for the financial strategy behind the Business Units plans. 
Monthly meetings with Heads of Department and Senior VP’s to review financial performance. 
Support on ad-hoc departmental initiatives – including investments. 
Financial Process Control & Appraisal  
Lead initiatives with both the business units and the wider Finance team to establish effective financial and reporting controls & robust processes.

About you

With experience in the provision of finance support in a commercial environment and close to completing a relevant professional accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA), you will have sound knowledge of budgetary control, business/financial planning and strong technical accounting skills.

A proven capability to prioritise work, work under pressure and deliver to high standards as well as the ability to devise and follow through on profit improvement programmes is also required.  A strong influencer, you will have great written and verbal communication skills and an ability to distil complex information into clear messages.
Proactivity is key – we can only improve if we have people who have the curiosity to explore issues and generate new ideas. A team player with well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively and cross functionally to help us achieve our objectives.
