In a nutshell

As a B1 certified engineer, your role will be to carry out allocated maintenance tasks, in a safe and secure manner, to certify such tasks in accordance with Virgin Atlantic (VAA) and regulatory requirements.

Whilst ensuring your own workload is completed, you will be responsible for supervising small teams of technicians, ensuring their tasks are completed.

Day to day

To efficiently carry out maintenance tasks and lead teams to deliver the highest maintenance, safety and reliability standards.

Act as the focal point of communication between the team, the Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor, the Aircraft Maintenance Manager in Technical Control and where required, third party interest to support efficient and timely maintenance, completed on time.

Accountable for ensuring accurate certification of tasks and DEAS Supervise third party suppliers.

Demonstrate clear leadership and understanding of efficient working practices and actively promote within the working environment.

Carry out annual performance reviews and support development of staff aligned with department strategy.

Be aware of effective control of costs budget.

Support revenue generation and control of cost.

Drive compliance with Engineering safety.

About you

As a B1 Certified engineer, you will have previous supervisory experience and will hold a European Aviation Safety Authority part 66 B1 licence with company approvals on 1 or more of the following aircraft types: A340-600 (RR Trent 500) A330 (Trent 700) B787 (RR Trent 1000.)

You'll need a proactive attitude and sound ability to plan ahead. Excellent communication skills will be a key attribute along with strong team working abilities including leading a small team. You will enjoy inspiring confidence in others especially when tackling problems and issues and be willing to show a degree of flexibility when required.
