In a nutshell

As Revenue Management Analyst you'll deliver and implement Virgin Atlantic Airways (VAA) revenue management strategies through rigorous, constant, evaluation and analysis of VAA’s competitive positioning, in one of the inventory, pricing, pricing strategy or ancillary revenues teams. This role will have an initial focus in our pricing team

Day to day

Continually monitor and evaluate the competitive landscape and make recommendations to the manager and rest of team as to appropriate revenue management actions to facilitate the delivery of VAA’s revenue optimisation and strategy
Implement relevant and competitive fares, conditions and rules in line with VAA’s pricing or ancillary revenue strategy
Deliver proactive and reactive revenue management initiatives based off technical interpretation of competitor actions in a timely and accurate manner
Perform fare integrity and fare maintenance activities on a regular basis
Create and implement route strategies to support the strategic objectives of VAA and its revenue targets
Ensure competitive, timely and accurate fares, conditions and rules in all markets and market segments
Coordinate activity with Sales, Marketing, Digital and Customer teams to deliver customer focused fare and ancillary products into market
Provide analysis on the effectiveness and revenue benefits of inventory strategies/ specific pricing actions / broader pricing strategies and positioning of ancillary products
Use analytic tools to minimise low/high yield spill and spoil, optimise forecast accuracy and set overbooking strategies and other key performance metrics
Conduct analysis into specific trading issues as directed by manager, presenting insights and recommendations to manager
Analyse competitor activity to provide insight into market dynamics

About you

You’ll have relevant experience in statistics, economics, aviation or business whilst being educated to degree level, or experience in a related discipline. Familiarity with Revenue Management concepts and systems are beneficial (eg ATPCo, SITA, Sabre, AirPrice, PROS, Farelogix) alongside practical working experience of Microsoft Office products, including the ability to use Excel to an advanced level. With well-developed numerical skills, you’ll have the ability to interpret, analyse, manipulate and present significant volumes of data and have proven experience of communicating complex messages to a variety of audiences.
You’ll have the ability to use organisational skills to prioritise and multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment, be a creative problem solver and have the ability to take accountability and ownership of area of responsibility. With good interpersonal and communication skills you’ll have the ability to present in a structured manner and be a collaborative team player.
