In a nutshell

In this exciting role you’ll successfully generate revenue for Virgin Atlantic Airways (VAA) and Delta Airlines (DL) by negotiating competitive group rates for Travel Agents, Tour Operators, Group, Conference and Incentive organisers. You will co-ordinate globally the service delivery requirements of each group, whilst using value added selling skills to build customer commitment and increase revenues in line with annual revenue targets

Day to day

Negotiate, influence and generate revenue within framework of set Terms and Conditions
 
Gather market intelligence, consolidate and communicate market information such as competitor activity to use in account planning activity
 
Ensuring calls and emails are answered as per SLA in place.
 
Creating a positive efficient environment for Groups Agents to converse
 
Generate and qualify new business opportunities
 
Create and implement a personal development plan which identifies actions to improve performance and achieve annual targets and career goals
 
Create and deliver sales activity plans and account strategies to protect existing revenues, maximise new revenue generating opportunities
 
Build and maintain relationships at senior management level between VAA and its B2B base to secure long term revenue streams and life time value customers

About you

Do you have good interpersonal skills with a level of diplomacy? Do you possess the ability to manage customer expectations and deliver bad news if necessary? Can you work accurately and under pressure, dealing with a variety of situations simultaneously? Then you could be who we’re looking for.
 
A strong attention to detail and organised approach to work is a must for this role as well as a working knowledge of a GDS system along with a good working knowledge of IATA fares and ticketing. If you have a sound knowledge of Virgin/Delta products/services then this will stand you in good stead.
 
Evidence of working well as part of a team is essential with a level of commercial awareness; previous experience of working in a Sales environment would be advantageous. You will demonstrate excellent presentation, negotiating and influencing skills and of course effective time management capability.
