In a nutshell

Reporting to the UX Lead, the Digital Product Designers will work alongside our product managers, analysts and developers. You will have principal design responsibility for your product area: for example, you might be responsible for the booking experience on our website, new ways for customers to improve their in-flight entertainment, or the ground-up development of a new app.

As a Digital Product Designer, you’ll be comfortable across the end-to-end design process: hosting workshops, concepting, prototyping and finally delivering high-fidelity UI designs. You’ll be happy working both at a high level on experience design, as well as executing at the detailed level of interface and interaction design.

Our aim is to establish review/planning every two weeks and plan strategically every other quarter.

Day to day

Collaboratively sketch with products team(s)

Build sitemaps and produce interactive wireframes

Communicate UX decisions
Present design decisions
Build interaction design and UI animations
Production of assets for digital products UI mockups
Bring together partners to extract information
Host workshops that engage and excite a broad spectrum of departments
Crafting collaboration activities for non-designers
Work with brand assets to explore new layouts and compositions for web assets
Develop how the brand is expressed in digital design, and support content managers in the creation of new pages.

About you

Do you have proven experience designing and delivering high-quality digital products? Have you gained this in an agile environment, obtained either in-house or at an agency? Are you an expert across the spectrum of product design, including interpreting user research and prototyping solutions, designing interfaces, and delivering high-fidelity visual designs for development? Then you could be who we’re looking for.

Different designers will have different strengths, but a grounding in all the relevant skills is essential for this role. As a standout colleague who naturally collaborates, you’ll be comfortable working with a diverse group of people to build ingenious experiences. You will be a self-starter who actively seeks ways to make the Virgin Atlantic experience both visually appealing and simple to use. Using your excellent communication skills and aptitude to influence others, you will have the ability to clearly articulate not only what you did, but more importantly why you did it. You’ll have an ability to understand and balance business, design and user needs, and to ensure that design solutions have a measurable benefit to the business, alongside a good understanding of design processes and the role of design in brand-building.

If this sounds like you and you have experience design tools such as Sketch or Photoshop and have experience with prototyping tools like InVision, Axure and Flinto then we would love to hear from you.
