In a nutshell

As User Experience (UX) Researcher you will work in collaboration with our designers, product managers, analysts and developers, and be responsible for helping us establish the research practice, within Virgin Atlantic’s Digital department. You will responsible for running research tasks that bring back insights on all aspects of the flying experience from buying tickets, checking in to how our customers feel whilst onboard. As a UX Researcher, you’ll be comfortable using a range of techniques to help us see opportunities for design improvements, as well as craft hypothesis for optimisation experiments.
 
Our aim is to build a monthly research cycle, with review/planning every two weeks. Plus strategic planning every quarter.

Day to day

Embedding ongoing research in to all digital projects.
 
Explore new research techniques and demonstrating the benefits of digital research.
 
Building and managing our list of test participants
 
Collect and analyse user behaviours through lab tests, online testing, field visits and interviews, surveys and online experiments.
 
Writing recruitment screeners, building discussion guides and co-ordinating lab tests
 
Running contextual interviews and taking part in field studies •Moderating internal and external usability tests, focus groups and workshops.
 
Advise our Digital Product Managers, Designers and Ecommerce Managers on the most effective research methodology
 
Build relationships with counterparts in our Data, Marketing, Sales and Customer teams to exchange findings, ideas and plans
 
Communicate results and illustrating insights in creative ways
 
Present findings back to project teams
 
Engage partners from around the business in our research results

About you

Do you have broad experience of qualitative research methods, ideally in an agile environment? Are you educated to degree level or equivalent in HCI, Computer Science, Behavioural Science or a related subject? Then you could be who we're looking for.
 
With proven experience of working in a user experience related role, you will have a comprehensive portfolio of research related projects. Naturally curious you'll bring exacting standards and a willingness to continually learn from the team and from our users. As a team player you'll have the ability to collaborate and will be comfortable working with a diverse group of people to build ingenious experiences. You'll actively seek ways to make the Virgin Atlantic experience both appealing and simple to use and be a dedicated advocate of a user-centred approach to product development. As a great storyteller and communicator, you'll have the ability to speak fluently to business people, designers, developers and other partners.
 
If you're well versed in industry standard tools (Clicktale, Silverback, Lookback etc.) and always happy trying out new tools, alongside the above sounding like you, then we would love to hear from you.
