Virgin Atlantic is on a mission to build a world class UX team. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a new team, whilst writing for one of the world's most loved brands.
 
This is a new role and part of an exciting expansion plan. The successful candidate will be take the lead of our existing content team. Therefore will have the opportunity to demonstrate the value of the content design across the business and help embed content strategy in to our design process.
 
Working closely with our designers and product managers you will act as both a lead and a hands-on contributor across projects. With an eye for process, you will need to bring a strong understanding of all aspects of content planning and creationó from tone of voice to workflows and governance. This unique opportunity will allow a Content Strategist to work with a broad range of business units to craft and align content to usersí needs and join an ambitious team, with big plans. 

Day to day

Responsibility for planning, creating and editing content across the entire digital experience from the web booking flow, to check-in kiosks and in-flight entertainment.
 
Plan, write, edit and optimise content including UI micro-copy, product descriptions, navigational nomenclature and other content throughout Facebook experiences
 
Establishing a clear governance system for content creation and communicating that system across our teams.
 
Building relationships with various teams around Virgin Atlantic to form and execute a coherent strategy that aligns to our business objectives.
 
Create and maintain consistency with content standards
 
Collaborating with designers and product managers on writing for prototypes
 
Supporting Content Producers in their roles and developing the teamís skills.
 
Turning complex concepts into clear, concise, compelling copy and considering things like tone, clarity and scannability along the way.
 
Adapting the Virgin Atlantic brand to different platforms, such as websites, chat-bots, apps or voice UIs, while still keeping the personality we're famous for.
 
Working in partnership with brand team to ensure the tone of voice is on-brand and appropriate to the user experience.

About you

You may be in-house, agency or freelance Ė we donít mind; however itís essential youíll have experience of writing digital content and demonstrable knowledge of information architecture. As an advocate for the power of good content design, youíll be a team player who naturally collaborates and comfortable working with a diverse group of people to build ingenious experiences.
 
Youíll be a self-starter who will actively seek ways to make the Virgin Atlantic experience both appealing and simple to use, with the ability to manage your own workload, whilst being part of multiple project teams. Youíre a perfectionists who will bring exatcing standards and have already spotted the spelling mistake in this sentence and be comfortable offering continual support and feedback on managers who are coaching UX writers and Content Managers.
