In a nutshell

In this role, you will have responsibility for managing the team of Payments Advisors based in the UK and India. You will be accountable for the timely and accurate release of all payments across all areas of the Virgin Atlantic Airways group, whilst maximizing and ensuring optimum usage of working capital.

With effective stakeholder and team management, you will ensure that agreed service levels and KPIís are met, and provide accurate and timely management reporting on performance. You'll also be responsible for providing accurate payment cashflow forecast information into the Treasury function.

Identifying and implementing continuous improvements to payments, cashflow forecasting, banking and reconciliations processes, designed to manage risk, reduce costs, and improve service delivery and efficiency will be key in this role. And you'll ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with industry rules, standards and regulations.

Day to day

Managing the onshore and offshore payment function to ensure that all payment KPIís and SLAís are met. Ensuring that key stakeholders are managed and kept fully informed of current/future status.

You will lead, manage and develop the team and their performance in accordance with our process and policies, brand values and behaviours.

Always seeking continuous improvements to payment processes, improving efficiency and reducing risk.

Successful delivery of new projects and initiatives as required by the business.

Producing accurate cash flow reporting and forecasts. Partnering with the Treasury department to support the management of bank accounts and banking systems.

Ensuring that payment activity is in line with industry rules and regulations. Acting as liaison for all internal and external audit reviews within the Payments team.

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have experience of working within ERP environments (Oracle preferred) along with a good knowledge of the Purchase to Pay cycle. You'll also have familiarity with governance principles and payment controls. If you have a Finance or accounting qualification this would be advantageous.

We are looking for someone who has experience of managing and coaching a team who has excellent communication skills, both spoken and written. You will also be numerical and methodical with a high level of attention to detail and have the ability to identify and drive process improvements.
