In a nutshell

In this Virgin Atlantic Airways role you'll be responsible for driving development of our specialist cargo products, to boost revenues / market shares in key industry verticals, increase customer NPS scores, and ensure we remain competitive in the market. In particular you'll drive growth into the heavily regulated but lucrative market for pharmaceutical cargo.

The role will have a specific focus on developing, managing and maintaining the Quality Management System, and holding all stakeholders to account for assigned actions that arise from GDP audits, or from specific incident reports. You'll also play a pivotal role in driving further synergies from our cargo joint venture with Delta, by finding ways to further align our products and services. 

Day to day

Understanding strategic demand - Identifying business change requirements through careful use of customer input data, internal workshops and market analysis
Assisting on delivery of business change relating to products, e.g. planning, system changes, comms, training, business case preparation
Reviewing and redesigning internal processes, to ensure optimum efficiency, and class leading service for our customers
Managing both internal and external facing product information, making sure content is accurate and up to date at all times (e.g. Gateway information, product flyers, website etc)
Working with Delta to find ways to bring further alignment across our product portfolios, to strengthen JV product offerings (e.g. standby products, GPS trackers, pharma etc).
Acting as the designated ‘Responsible Person’ for Virgin Atlantic, who will be accountable for the airline’s compliance with EU GDP guidelines for the handling of pharmaceutical cargo shipments.
Working closely with GHAs around our network to drive compliance with GDP guidelines at key pharma gateways, to enable us to grow into this heavily regulated but lucrative cargo market
Conducting GDP audits at key pharma hubs to assess compliance, and issue comprehensive reports containing key findings and actions
Leading regular competitor benchmarking, making recommendations to ensure VAC remain commercially competitive and innovative

About you

To apply you'll need to be commercially astute, possess strong analytical skills and be familiar with the operational challenges of air cargo. Youíll be logical and methodical in your approach to business change, being able to identify and utilise key stakeholders to ensure delivery of solutions that really add value for the business and our customers.
Excellent communication skills and ability to influence where necessary at all levels and in all geographies will be vitally important along with a willingness to learn, respond and adapt to feedback. You'll be good at building trust with others as well as handling conflict and challenging people.
Youíll have some experience with statistical analysis, interpretation of data, and presentation of findings / recommendations to the business, as well as some knowledge of Mercatorís SkyChain (Voyager) product and a proficiency in MS Office suite of applications such as Excel, Powerpoint and Visio.
