In a nutshell

Accountable for managing and leading an effective team of Analysts to ensure Virgin Atlantic Airways (VAA) remains competitive in all cabins in the markets worldwide that we wish to engage in, through constant evaluation and analysis of our positioning. This role will deliver appropriate and innovative fare products to market in the most efficient, accurate and timely manner in collaboration with Pricing Strategy, Inventory and Sales whilst coaching and motivating a large team of analysts to be best in class in the field. 

Day to day

Manage the delivery and implementation of relevant and competitive fare products, conditions and rules in line with VAA’s Pricing strategy


Through scientific and forensic knowledge of the market and continual evaluation of the competitive landscape, make recommendations to VP Pricing & Ancillary Revenues and wider key stakeholders on strategies to optimise VAA’s revenue generation and position VAA as a price leader in our markets


Successfully deliver Pricing strategies in collaboration with Pricing Strategy & Sales team


Manage the team to deliver on-going pro-active and reactive Pricing promotions, fare level adjustments, distressed inventory and competitive price monitoring


Ensure fare integrity and fare maintenance is performed periodically network-wide and across all fare products


Deliver UK PoS Pricing strategy for the Joint Venture (“JV”) with Delta, liaising with the Delta Revenue Management team to ensure the JV’s competitive positioning is continuously monitored and present appropriate fare products to promote Delta’s performance in the UK  


Provide insight into market dynamics and VAA’s competitiveness by utilising appropriate tools and/or developing new tools with RM Systems and Insights


Lead and manage assigned projects on Pricing and/or Inventory Management related initiatives including planning, research and implementation to deliver to successful conclusion


Line management of team members, providing strong leadership to the team to ensure VAA remains competitive and maximises revenue performance at all times


Set clear performance expectations, accountabilities and feedback to ensure departmental goals are delivered in line with objectives


Coach team to perform at their best to enable the delivery of multiple Pricing strategies and approaches across the network

About you

Ideally, you will be an expert in pricing theory, execution and systems with the ability to manage, motivate and develop a team. With exceptional analytical skills you'll have the ability to interpret, analyse, manipulate and present complex and voluminous data in a clear and concise manner. You'll be able to work accurately in a fast paced environment, be a creative problem solver with a strong commercial acumen


Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels is essential alongside being a collaborative team player within a wider Commercial team, especially working with Sales and Marketing. You'll have proven experience in statistics, economics, aviation or business and it is preferable that you are educated to degree level or equivalent in a related discipline.


Advanced knowledge and practical application of Excel is essential for this role along with practical working experience of Microsoft Office products. You'll have demonstrated experience in delivering analysis to a high standard whilst working in a dynamic environment and managing multiple stakeholders. Familiarity with Pricing systems  would be beneficial, particularly ATPCo.
