In a nutshell


As Executive Airports Operations Policy & Procedures you will implement, design and consult with the airports to ensure clear policies, procedures and operating standards for both above and below wing operations ensuring the field based teams can deliver consistently outstanding experiences (with safe, secure, and on time performance as a major element of that experience) and ensure airports globally remain compliant.

Day to day


Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing the airports with clear policies, procedures and global standards for both above and below wing operations including baggage, the apron, load control, customer services, cleaning and de-icing ensuring safe, compliant global airport operations.

To be the subject matter expertise of airport operations above and below wing functions.


Create, deliver and update the global standards templates and airport manuals for all airport operations including above and below wing in consultation with field based teams.


In continuous business improvement to consult with partners from around the business to ensure the global standards are driving compliance, effectiveness and efficiency.


Ensure that all airport operations align with Virgin Atlantic Airways (VAA) policies, processes and procedures and that all government mandated security procedures and industry safety standards are followed.


Ensure all airports are compliant and have robust quality and compliance verifications in place, providing all the tools to enable airports to deliver a safe and efficient operation.


Providing leadership/sponsorship and decision-making to ensure projects and programmes are delivered effectively on time and to budget.


Drive a healthy open safety and security culture and ensure that all airports worldwide meet and exceed VAA standards, policies and procedures.


About you


We are looking for our next Executive Operations Policy and Procedures to have broad airline operational knowledge with a strong commercial awareness. You will be running various concurrent projects and initiatives, operating both at the strategic and the detailed implementation level so a high level of analytical thinking, second to none attention to detail and effective time management will ensure success in this role. 

You will be liaising with internal and external partners on a day to day basis so excellent interpersonal skills are pivotal. So if you have validated experience in relationship building across remote teams, strong report writing skills and confidence in presenting regardless of your audience then we would love to hear from you.

Ramp experience is advantageous but not essential.
