In a nutshell

As Information Services Manager, you'll be responsible for managing the Information Services team which consists of Engineering Technical Publications and the Engineering Technical Library.

You'll be responsible for providing an efficient and effective Information Service to the Part M and Part 145 organisations of the airline ensuring that data is maintained and current at all times.

Day to day

Ensure all departmental procedures are maintained, kept current and are reviewed in line with regulatory requirements

Ensure all regulatory EASA/FAA requirements associated with documentation and data are managed in accordance with agreed SLAs and policies

Ensure all Safety related manual amendments are implemented in line with agreed SLAs and prioritization

Manage relevant Health and Safety assessment programs to ensure a safe working environment is maintained for all staff

Ensure all relevant OEM requirements are raised and addressed to ensure data is providing current and safe working practices.
Compile departmental budgets in line with VAA Corporate and Fleet Services requirements    

Ensure agreed headcount is maintained in accordance with approved budget requirements 

Compile medium to long term budgetary requirements for OEM future strategies i.e. Toolbox Horizon, AirN@v X
Seek innovative ways to reduce and improve departmental budgetary requirements
Ensure all negotiated contracts are managed in accordance with VAA policies and regulatory requirements
Ensure all OEM and VAA data changes are managed in accordance with regulatory and S1000D requirements

Ensure OEM data revisions and releases are managed, distributed and communicated

Ensure all e-delivery data is compiled and distributed in-line with OEM schedules

Ensure e-man and eDoc Browser data updates are managed and maintained in accordance with agreed SLAs

Ensure future enhancements, improvements with ADOC and Toolbox Authoring software packages are managed with OEMs

Ensure attendance at relevant OEM workshops, conferences is maintained to ensure VAAs continual involvement in product development

Ensure all relevant 3rd Parties and VAA outstations are provided with the relevant data access to support VAA Operations

Reporting of overdue and on review technical documents

Ensure all relevant Sharepoint sites and departmental workload trackers are used

Ensure all Staff have Performance objectives set in line with Business requirements both short and medium term

Provide sound leadership, direction and management of all team members

About you

We are looking for candidates who are educated to degree level (or equivalent) with relevant management experience. You’ll have experience of managing and motivating large teams. You will also have industry experience of Technical Publications and Information Services within Part M / 145. A management qualification or equivalent would be desirable, ideally in an Aeronautic/Engineering environment.
You will have knowledge of EASA regulations and the ability to communicate and negotiate with suppliers (Boeing/Airbus). In addition you will have the ability and experience of managing budgets and contracts. You’ll be detailed and have an analytical approach to work, with drive and enthusiasm to develop a professional team culture.
