This is a fantastic opportunity for a Technical Information Services Manager to join our Fleet Technical Engineering department at Virgin Atlantic. You will manage a diverse team that has responsibility for all Engineering & Maintenance technical documentation, procedures and technical authoring.You will have responsibility for the management and development of a small team, whilst overseeing Financial and contractual agreements.
Manage a diverse team, ensuring high performance and employee engagement
Oversight of the technical publications and library and teams; setting priorities, measuring and managing metrics and overcoming complex problems.
Manage a significant budget and be responsible for accurate delivery. You will also define mid to long-term budget requirements.
Change management to continuously improve the team and move to paperless / mobile technology
Responsibility for delivering an effective, high quality and compliant technical information service to the VAA Part M and Part 145 organisations.
Manage data / service contracts with Airbus, Boeing and related vendors
Manage aircraft documentation and software tool requirements for new fleet acquisitions
Represent VAA at industry conferences and seminars to ensure we remain at the forefront of the industry
Explore and develop VAA Technology deployment in the field of Technical Documentation / Tool
Ensure regulatory compliance with related Part M requirements.
Support regulatory audits and resolve any discrepancies
Support Safety investigations
Support projects – new technology / software etc
As the Technical Services Manager, you’ll ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent HNC/HND with relevant experience and have previous management experience with the ability to motivate teams. You will have commercial aviation experience in Part M, ideally in the field of data / documentation management. A good understanding of EASA regulations, particularly Part M / Part 145 is essential.
You will be responsible for conveying key business information, so excellent communication skills, both written and verbally are key to this role. You will be highly motivated, detailed in your approach with drive and enthusiasm to develop a professional team culture. If the above sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!
