In a nutshell

In this role, you will provide analytical insight into Virgin Atlantic's network performance (including the joint venture transatlantic network with Delta Airlines) to aid decision making processes and recommend possible network change opportunities in order to maximise revenues and profitability for VAA.

Day to day

Route & Network Performance

Analyse route and network profitability to advise of performance relative to the VAA agreed budget for a group of routes and gain an understanding and ability to make decisions based on the data.

Identify opportunities through detailed analysis to increase profitable flying and limit loss making flying across the VAA network to maximise overall network performance.

Identify key competitor changes across routes in terms of capacity, competitor financial results and VAA connections.

Present material on route and network performance to key internal stakeholders e.g. sales teams, senior management.

Network Enhancement

Evaluate aircraft deployment options across route portfolio in order to recommend potential deployment changes and maximise profitability following appropriate procedures and guidelines.

Connection Optimisation

Optimise connectivity across the route portfolio in liaison with Schedules Planning and Airports for VAA network to generate maximum returns from connecting itineraries.

Route Evaluations

Become an expert user of Networks (QSI modelling tool) to complete timely and accurate network reviews and route evaluations including recommendations to improve use of tool.

About you

To succeed in this role, you'll need to be highly analytical with your ability demonstrated through a numerate degree (or equivalent) and have working experience of using multiple sources of data to analyse trends and make reliable forecasts. You'll also have an excellent understanding of the key drivers of performance - ideally in the commercial aviation industry.

As a strong communicator and confident presenter, you'll be an excellent team player with the ability to work cross functionally with a wide range of departments across the airline.
