In a nutshell

In this role, you will support the creation of a new Investor Relations function for Virgin Atlantic. Working with and reporting to the Director of External Affairs, you will help to devise its strategy and lead its execution. You will be responsible for delivering effective two-way communication between the Group, the financial community and other stakeholders who have an interest in the Group or an individual Op Coís financial stability and future success. In addition to leading the production and communication of our annual results, you will manage a year round programme of communication and engagement with the financial community, enhancing our existing relationships and building new ones, all the time working closely with our CFO and Group Treasurer.

Itís not all about the numbers and corporate strategy, you will also have a key role in promoting our sustainability credentials and explaining our external affairs priorities to the financial community, liaising closely with colleagues in our External Affairs, Sustainability, Corporate Comms and Press Office teams  to ensure the consistency of corporate messaging through all channels.

Day to day

As part of strategy development and implementation, you will support the Group Treasurer, CFO and Director, External Affairs and Sustainability on creating and delivering a corporate investor relations strategy and supporting advocacy activities and events that the Finance Directorate executes with these communities. 

You will devise, prepare and deliver appropriate financial and corporate communication programmes (across the group) to ensure key corporate messages are cascaded with effective impact and in a consistent manner to third party corporate audiences.
 
Sourcing and creating content for investor materials and maintaining investor relations sections of websites.
 
Managing and maintaining appropriate updates of key Leadership sheets for all key financial and business performance updates.
 
Monitoring of financial media on competitors/regulators.
 
You will produce VALís Annual Report, including briefing, planning, project managing, obtaining appropriate reviews and approvals from senior stakeholders, managing the budget & time-line.
 
Devising and executing a communications strategy for annual financial results, including media release production, briefings, and interviews and project managing Results Day.
 
You will develop and maintain a broad network of investor relations and financial media contacts and create and manage an investor and financial media database.
 
Delivering events, briefings, and supporting private meetings with investors as required by senior stakeholders and responding to ad hoc financial media and investor relations queries.
 
You will be responsible for communicating intangible values to the investor community and other third party stakeholders and maintaining communications for the Virgin Atlantic Groupís Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility reporting.
 
Developing and executing investor communications plans to support our external affairs priorities, particularly on Heathrow expansion, Brexit and Air Passenger Duty. 

About you

To be successful in this role it is essential that you will have solid corporate and financial communications experience. You will also have a good understanding of the financial media landscape along with the ability to create and execute high profile corporate / investor relations campaigns that influence the full complement of stakeholders. Degree educated (or equivalent), you will have a proven track record of working in a busy/high profile investor relations function or press office with a financial communications or investor relations slant).

With excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and a keen eye for detail, you will have the ability to build and foster professional relationships internally and externally with the investor community. You will also be a great negotiator with demonstrable gravitas and the ability to sell ideas where needed.
