In a nutshell

As HR Analytics & Insight Specialist for our People team, you'll be accountable for devising Virgin Atlanticís and Virgin Holidaysí insight strategy, creating relevant analysis to meet business needs and shaping the future possibilities that can be created through analytics. You'll act as the custodian of the long-term People MI roadmap, connecting, interrogating and packaging HR data in order to draw connections between sources, identify areas of opportunity and recommend data-driven solutions for relevant stakeholders.

Day to day

Define our future ambition for creating, sharing and using People insights.

Advise how various data sets could be connected and manipulated to create insight, and how these could be used to identify areas of opportunity and potential solutions.

Apply previous experience and external benchmarks to explore and test current data capabilities, as well as current business needs and drivers.

Map out which People insights are important, the known/underused/unmeasured data that could be explored.

Work with stakeholders to design a roadmap that will deliver People insights for existing opportunity areas, as well as identifying future areas of focus or value-adding insight possibilities, and how these will be developed.

Manipulate and connect large, complex sets of data across the People function in order to provide insights and trends into what the data is informing us.

Manipulate and analyse data to provide alternative scenarios and models based on team requirements and identify opportunities for solutions, interventions and continuous improvement.

Create relevant, engaging tools, dashboards and reporting routines to deliver timely, actionable insight into current people performance.

Manage the production of ad-hoc reports and generate specific project reports/presentations (monthly/quarterly).

Educate the wider People team on what can be achieved through improved analytics to generate interest, ideas and collaboration.

Provide and present key business insight and data commentary to a range of customers

About you

With proven experience in an HR analytics role, you'll have advanced Excel skills & experience in manipulating & modelling data without specialist software. You'll be familiar with HR Information Systems, business objects or equivalent reporting tools, and extracting data from a range of sources. Using your curious and enquiring mindset youíll look for new or different solutions and be externally focused on best practice, benchmarks and people analytics trends.

Commercially focused, youíll be able to demonstrate how your insights have driven changes and continuous improvements to HR activities and solutions. You'll possess the ability to quickly learn new systems e.g. SABA, iGRasp and Oracle, and have proven ability to engage with and influence all levels of the business, focusing on data being the enabler and not just the business outcome.

If the above sounds like you and you have the gravitas to involve others in defining how to best connect, interpret, present and use People data, then we want to hear from you!
